Twice after I started playing, other players approached the table, but the smiling dealer waved them off, saying "he's a beginner."
Also when I told him I wanted another card, he wouldn't give it to me. He said, "give me hand signal," and I realized the video cameras over each table were recording everything.
He was quite friendly though.
